£1.5m underground super-bin scheme launches in Liverpool

Liverpool's – and the UK's first - underground superbin programme has come into operation. The waste receptacles will be rolled out over the next two years, with 90 sites identified for installation. The £1.5m scheme is set to help combat the city's refuse problem.
