A laserlight display of the first revealed verse of the Qur'an is displayed on Jabal al-Nur in Makkah. This area is about 4 km north-east from Masjid al-Haram.
According to Arab News, the words of the first revelation revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are found in the Cave of Hara on Jabal al-Nur.
Historically, it was initially known as Mount Hara, after which it was named Jabal al-Nur, which means the light-spreading mountain that spread the light of religion throughout the world.
This opening verse of the Quran literally means 'Recite in the name of your Lord who created'.
The opening verse of the Holy Quran along with the laser lights on Jabal Al Noor have given this historical site a spiritual dimension which is a beautiful addition to the dignity and reverence of the area.
This beautiful laser light is organized by Samaya Investment Company, which is working on two cultural projects in Makkah. Of the two projects, Jabal al-Nur has one related to revelation (Museum of Revelation) and another related to migration (Museum of Migration).
The purpose of these two cultural centers is to acquaint the visitors and pilgrims with the mission of the Prophet of Islam from pre-Islam to the present day.
It should be noted that under the supervision of the Royal Commission and other agencies for the holy places in Makkah, work has been started to establish the Hara Cultural District on an area of more than 67,000 square meters.
Hara Cultural District will consist of several cultural and tourist attractions, including a gallery related to revelation and the Quran.
