Muhyiddin and Hadi attempt to quell rising tensions by meeting for supper

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin met his PAS counterpart Abdul Hadi Awang informally last night.

This followed apparent disagreement between the two parties on the contents of Muhyiddin’s speech during Bersatu’s sixth-anniversary event on Saturday.

According to Muhyiddin’s Facebook post this morning, the meeting took place at his home last night.

“It was a meaningful discussion. Many matters were agreed upon to strengthen Perikatan Nasional (PN) for the next general election,” Muhyiddin said.

The meeting would have taken place several hours after PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan issued a statement criticising Muhyiddin’s speech, albeit in a veiled manner.
