Delhi saw a dramatic change in weather on Thursday morning as good amounts of rain lashed the capital and its adjoining areas like Noida. The spell of rain was a huge relief from the high day temperature and humidity. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted the Southwest monsoon to hit Delhi on June 30. It also forecasts good amounts of rain for the next 10 days in the city and its adjoining areas after the onset.

Weather experts suggest the monsoon will yield good amounts of rainfall in the first 10 days of onset and help cover the rain deficit in Delhi. The city has received just 24.5 mm of rainfall against the monthly normal of 66.7 mm since June 1, all of it being recorded between June 16-20.
