Insanity (Poem)

bit of a tribute to the period of mental health problems i had, things were extremely bad and just kept getting worse, it was difficult and stressful and i thought it would never end, i managed to go under the radar and got through it without meds.

Insanity

auditory hallucinations,
i've been hearing voices,
they've been helping me decide,
all my important choices,
&
when i ask them questions,
they just give me dark replies,
sometimes i think i notice them,
in the corners of my sight,

observational misinterpretations,
i've been seeing ghosts,
and i think it's the intimate moments,
that worry me the most,

they're actually quite sexy,
if dead people are your thing,
i slept with one the other day,
and now parts of me sting,

telepathic communication,
like when people can read your mind,
and not a single thought of yours,
has anywhere to hide,
&
it can be really rough,
trying to stop the stream of words,
cuz,
one thing brains,
do not like,
is their secrets being heard,

inaccurate inane interpretations,
can bring down the inept,
to inert situations
some of our strengths are simply innate,
patience is a virtue and that person is your mate,

please try not to give them drugs,
before you've given them some space!!
