UK boy rejoices in the beauty of spring with his own special version of 'O Christmas Tree'

A proud mum has filmed her little boy rejoicing in the beauty of spring with his own special version of 'O Christmas Tree'. Charlie Wharton, five, had come up with the song whilst admiring the blossom trees from the window when driving in the car and started singing about what he could see. Days later, his proud mum Jennifer Bird, 36, filmed her son singing his sweet song about the beauty of spring loud and proud in the street for all to hear. Dressed in his uniform on the way to school on Monday (25/4), young Charlie can be heard singing: 'O spring time tree, o spring time tree, how lovely are your blossoms?'. To the tune of 'O Christmas Tree', he continues with: 'So beautiful, they're white and pink, they really make me stop and think. O spring time tree, o spring time tree, how lovely are your blossoms?' His supportive dad Ricky Wharton, 39, added a touch of theatre to the finale of the performance by shaking the blossom tree that Charlie stood beneath, showering the little lad with petals. Jen then shared the sweet clip on her social media platforms and was overwhelmed with the positive response from strangers who loved her son's singing. The nurse, who lives with Ricky, Charlie and his two sisters Amy Bird, 11, and Betsy Bird, 10, in Bedford, said: "I didn’t expect it to get the reaction it has! "My son asked me to ‘share it with the world’ - he thinks everyone needs to hear our spring time version of ‘O Christmas Tree’. "We are always making up silly songs and this one was made up as we were driving in the car. "He loves blossom trees and points them out when we are driving - he said ‘it’s like the Christmas tree song, Mummy’ and sang ‘how lovely are your branches’. "I suggested he could sing ‘how lovely is your blossom’ and we changed Christmas tree to Spring time tree and sang that through - a lot of times! "Then we just kept suggesting lines until we had made our little song. "I said I wanted to film him singing it so we don’t forget it and he decided he needed a music video, with a blossom tree and blossom needed to float all around him. "I’m not sure you can call our attempt a music video but he was very happy with it!"
