Fatal cable car collision in India leaves almost 50 people stranded mid-air

At least one man fell to his death while being lifted by Indian Air Force helicopters after a cable car collision in the city of Deoghar on April 10, 2022. The collision killed another person instantly and left 48 others dangling in the air. Some of those on board were forced to wait two days before being rescued. Jharkhand state’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, has ordered a high-level investigation into the accident.
