India is finding out ways to purchase cheaper oil from Russia as more and more nations shun Russia’s supplies after the war in Ukraine. India is consulting its central bank, exporters, and Russian authorities for rupee payments benchmarked to the U.S. dollar for buying oil.
The country is the world’s third-biggest oil importer with 85.1% of the consumption met by imports.
