Harbour Lake (green silks, white caps) wins three of four in Bangor

Sunday: Bangor

Aintree's national convention could be a possible target for the promising Harbour Lake as he has three victories in four races in the 2:30 obstacle course.

The Alan King-trained six-year-old challenged for the last time under Tom Cannon, taking advantage of a 6-5 favorite Jungle Jack's error to score three and a half lengths.

Mick Meagher, race director of the late Trevor Hemmings, said: “He was a great horse. He jumped a little on purpose today, he was usually better but lately he was going faster.

"Last time at Huntington he was a little bit unlucky, if he hadn't been knocked down he could have had a concussion, but he's on the right track.

"We can get him a near run at Aintree and we'll go there and see. If he jumps the fence next season, he'll be a good horse."

Hemmings Silk was victorious again as Bridge North, coached by Henry Daly, won the 2m3½f novice hurdles by seven and a half lengths.

Welcome to the winners

Affordable favourite Wishubewell took part in the Mares' 3m handicap chase, making Emma Lavelle the first winner of the month and providing a boost ahead of stable star Paisley Park's bid for Thursday's Stayers' Hurdle.

The eight-year-old had a smooth ride under Tom Bellamy, scoring two quarters from the Lucinda Russell-trained Methodtothemadness.
