UP Elections 2022: Absence of Roads Forces Girls of Mirzapur Villages to Quit School
  • 2 years ago
"Our parents don't let us study because the path to the school is very dangerous," say the girls of Mirzapur's Matwar Nyay panchayat, who are forced to quit school after Class 8 because the higher secondary school is 22 km away and there is no road to get them there. The villagers must pass through crime-infested forests due to the absence of roads. They have vowed to boycott the upcoming UP elections 2022 if the roads to the panchayat's 14 villages are not constructed.
