Hijab was allowed on campus but never inside classroom: Udupi college principal

Amid the Karnataka hijab row, Udupi college principal Rudre Gowda said that students had approached him for permission to wear the hijab inside the classroom and he assured them that their request would be conveyed to the higher authorities. He stated that students were allowed to wear the headscarf on the campus premises but not inside the classrooms.
