Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ने मंगलवार को अपने budget speech में e-Passport को लेकर बड़ा ऐलान किया है. उन्होंने अपने बजट भाषण में बताया कि साल 2022-23 में e-passport जारी होंगे. इससे नागरिकों को विदेश यात्रा में सुविधा मिलेगी.वित्तमंत्री ने बताया कि लोगों को पासपोर्ट की समस्या से जूझना पड़ता रहता है. इस प्रक्रिया को आसान करने के लिए सरकार ने बड़ी पहल की है. अब इम्‍बेडेड चिप और भावी प्रौद्योगिकी वाले ई-पासपोर्ट शुरू किए जाएंगे, ये चिप डेटा से जुड़ी सिक्योरिटी को बेहतर करने के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा
