भारतीय ज्योतिष में पंचक को अशुभ माना गया है। हालांकि कुछ ज्योतिष मानते हैं कि पंचक में आने वाले नक्षत्रों में शुभ कार्य हो भी किये जा सकते हैं। पंचक में आने वाला उत्तराभाद्रपद नक्षत्र वार के साथ मिलकर सर्वार्थसिद्धि योग बनाता है, वहीं धनिष्ठा, शतभिषा, पूर्वा भाद्रपद व रेवती नक्षत्र यात्रा, व्यापार, मुंडन आदि शुभ कार्यों में श्रेष्ठ माने गए हैं। दूसरी ओर धनिष्ठा, शतभिषा, उत्तरा भाद्रपद, पूर्वा भाद्रपद व रेवती नक्षत्र कुछ विशेष काम वर्जित किये गए हैं। घनिष्ठा और शतभिषा नक्षत्र चल संज्ञक माने जाते हैं। इनमें चलित काम करना शुभ माना गया है जैसे-यात्रा करना, वाहन खरीदना, मशीनरी संबंधित काम शुरू करना शुभ माना गया है। 2. उत्तराभाद्रपद नक्षत्र स्थिर संज्ञक नक्षत्र माना गया है। इसमें स्थिरता वाले काम करने चाहिए जैसे- बीज बोना, गृह प्रवेश, शांति पूजन और जमीन से जुड़े स्थिर कार्य करने में सफलता मिलती है। 3. रेवती नक्षत्र मैत्री संज्ञक होने से इस नक्षत्र में कपड़े, व्यापार से संबंधित सौदे करना, किसी विवाद का निपटारा करना, गहने खरीदना आदि काम शुभ माने गए हैं।

Panchak is considered inauspicious in Indian astrology. Although some astrologers believe that auspicious work can be done in the constellations coming in Panchak. Uttarabhadrapada coming in Panchak together with Nakshatra wise forms Sarvarthasiddhi Yoga, whereas Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Poorva Bhadrapada and Revathi Nakshatra are considered best in auspicious works like travel, business, shaving etc. On the other hand Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Poorva Bhadrapada and Revati Nakshatra, some special works have been prohibited. They can do auspicious work . In these, it is considered auspicious to do moving work, such as traveling, buying a vehicle, starting machinery related work is considered auspicious. 2. Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra is considered to be a stable cognition constellation. In this, stable work should be done like sowing seeds, home entry, peace worship and stable work related to the land gives success. 3. Due to Revati Nakshatra being a friendship cognizant, doing clothes, business related deals, settling any dispute, buying jewelry etc. is considered auspicious in this Nakshatra.
