The Election Commission (EC) has ruled out the possibility that the upcoming assembly elections would be deferred due to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the country. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said all political parties were in favour of holding the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls on time.
