Residents of western Europe, wary of low wage Eastern Europeans, have long feared losing jobs to the so-called Polish plumber. Now, however, fast-rising unemployment has forced Eastern European immigrants to head home. This is good news, says Jacek Szwajcowski,president of the Polish pharmaceuticals group PGF.
