'An incredible video emanating from Nashik, India proves that humanity is still alive and well.

This stunning montage features a severely injured monitor lizard getting treated and nursed back to health before being set free.

"Miracle, you call it. Hard work, we know it," the filmer said. "Animal Rescue India got a call from Shree Dattu Dhage and he informed us that a few tribal people had caught a monitor lizard and were trying to cut it with a simple knife.

"Our volunteer reached the site within 15 minutes. He somehow managed to snatch the lizard from the hands of 10-12 tribal people and reached our SHARAN animal shelter in no time. By that point, the lizard had already lost a lot of blood."

The filmer revealed that the poor reptile had to bear a total of 41 external, as well as internal stitches. Plus, it took about a month for it to recover. After making a complete recovery, the animal was safely released in a safe abode.
