Saikhom Mirabai Chanu gave India a fine start at the Tokyo Olympics by winning the silver medal in the 49 kg category in weightlifting. India have never won a medal on the first day of an Olympics and Mirabai's medal could see the start of good things at Tokyo 2020. Mirabai said the medal was the reward for hard work for over five years. She has dedicated the silver medal to the country.
