Today is Valmiki Jayanti. The ‘Adikavi’ of Sanskrit is Maharshi Valmikiji. He was born on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. On this day, the temples perform special puja of Maharshi Valmiki and wish for the welfare of the world. Maharshi Valmiki was the first to compose Sanskrit shlokas and he also composed the epic Sanskrit Ramayana, which is why he has the title of ‘Adikavi’ of Sanskrit.
आज Valmiki Jayanti है। हर साल आश्विन माह की पूर्णिमा को Maharshi Valmikiji का जन्मदिन मनाया जाता है. हिंदुओं के लोकप्रिय धार्मिक ग्रंथ रामायण के रचना महर्षि वाल्मीकि ने की थी और इसलिए वाल्मीकि जयंती का विशेष महत्व है. हर साल वाल्मीकि जयंती पर खास कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते हैं और देश के कुछ हिस्सों में वाल्मीकि की झांकी भी निकाली जाती है।
