The Supreme Court on Wednesday took suo motu cognisance of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence which claimed the lives of eight people, including four farmers. The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Uttar Pradesh government to file a detailed status report on Lakhimpur Kheri violence by Friday. Supreme Court will again hear the matter on Friday.
