Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday (local time) exchanged views on recent global and regional developments.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, taking to Twitter, said the two leaders discussed India-US vibrant bilateral partnership, covering emerging and critical technologies, healthcare, education and people-to-people linkages.

The Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) on Friday took over the probe into the death of Akhada Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri. A five-member team of the CBI from Delhi reached Prayagraj on Thursday afternoon for a preliminary inquiry.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday met the family members of BJP leader Abhijit Sarkar, who was killed during the post-poll violence in West Bengal.

"This has been swept under the carpet. In coming days, we will make post-poll violence an agenda," said Hardeep Singh Puri.
