DIG S&ESD MAQSOOD AHMED INAUGURATES SSU SWAT TRAINING CENTER, CHOWKANDI

In a graceful ceremony held at Special Security Unit Headquarters Chowkandi, DIG Security & Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed inaugurated “SSU SWAT Training Centre”.

Commandant SSU Zeeshan Shafique Siddiqui, Commandant Navy Seal Noman Aslam, SP Chowkandi Dr. Najeeb Khan, SP Madadgar-15 Abdullah Memon, SP SSU Irum Awan, senior officers and a large number of police personnel of security division were present on the occasion.

DIG Maqsood Ahmed who was also the chief guest of the ceremony addressed that the purpose of establishing SWAT Training Centre is to provide specialized training to the police personnel to enhance their professional capabilities.

He further said that centre will provide advance trainings of special operation, security of vital installations and VVIP Security to the personnel as per modern needs by the professional instructors.

DIG Security felicitated Commandant and all staff of SSU for establishing SSU SWAT Training Centre and hoped that the centre will not only help Sindh Police but other law enforcement agencies of Pakistan.

It is worth mentioning here that Special Security Unit’s SWAT Team during the year 2020 conducting targeted operations along-with other law enforcement agencies, arrested 167 accused. While, 37 accused have been arrested during the current year so far in the successful raids conducted by SSU’s SWAT Team. A cache of weapons, ammunitions, mobile phones, vehicles, electronic devices and other things were recovered.

Moreover, in connection to the Defence Day, a blood donation camp installed at SSU Headquarters, wherein, a large number of police officers and personnel donated blood.
