Wreaths are placed beside the shrine of Apolinario Mabini at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila to commemorate the national hero's 157th birth anniversary on July 23, 2021. Mabini, who was paralyzed from the waist down, was also known as the "Sublime Paralytic", as he was considered the brains of the Philippine revolutionary movement that plotted against the Spaniards.
