Choitra Sankranti

Choitro has started from mid-march to mid-April and Choitro is the last month of the Bengali calendar.Choitro Sankranti is very famous in Bengalis and are celebrating this in their traditional way.This month is also famous for choitro sale where people getting discount on all shopping and Choitro Sankranti is celebrating more in Rural Areas apart from Urban Areas. The festival revolves around the temple of Shiva, the original god of rural Bengal. Shiva is called Buro Thakur and the festival started 10 days before Chaitra Sankranti in everyone's house. Various ceremonies are held in Bengali houses around Chaitra Sankranti and The house and shop have to be cleaned well before this day. At this time people also celebrating Another Hindu ritual is Charak Puja and This Charak Puja is performed in different places of West Bengal.
