Panic gripped the residents at Ladijodi village under Borigumma block in Koraput district after a sleuth of wild bears entered the village and wreaked havoc. One woman of the village was reportedly injured after being attacked by one of the bears. Villagers said six sloth bears have been found moving around the village at night for last several days.

The bears continue to enter the village area from a nearby forest in search of food.

The locals have demanded that the Forest officials should drive away the animals into the forest before they cause any further damage to life and property.
