Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was born on 14 April, 1891 and has since become an icon for the people of the country. Though installed as the 'Father of the Constitution' in our popular imagination, Ambedkar also worked tirelessly for the rights of the oppressed, providing radical solutions that put him at odds with national figures like Mahatma Gandhi.
