Pfizer vaccine arrives

The first shipment of Pfizer vaccine arrived in Manila on Monday after months of delay due to tight supply.

The 193,050 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine were flown on a chartered Air Hong Kong flight that landed at 8:51 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the delivery will pave the way for the “mini-roll-out” of the vaccine and allow the government to prepare for the succeeding shipments.

Galvez said the Pfizer vaccine must be stored at temperatures of negative 70 to 80 degrees Celsius.
