Robin and Marian is a 1976 adventure/drama/epic/sentimental film directed by Richard Lester, starring Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn.
Plot-In 1199, the violent King Richard the Lionheart dies in a stupid skirmish leaving two knights of his entourage free, Robin Hood and Little John who twenty years earlier had been the leaders of Sherwood's famous outlaws. The two decide to return to the place that was the scene of their deeds and here they find old friends, Marian, Robin's love, and the Sheriff of Nottingham. But everyone got older and Marian is even abbess of a convent. Robin resumes the fight, kills the sheriff, but Marian, for fear of losing him, poisons him by committing suicide soon after.
