India records 1,761 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours

In a slight drop in the daily Covid-19 infection cases, India registered over 2.59 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, thrusting the caseload in the country to over 1.53 crore, according to the Union health ministry. The death toll crossed 1.80 lakh after 1,761 Covid-19 patients, the biggest-ever spike in the past 24 hours, succumbed to the infection in one day.
