Scorpions are a group of eight-legged animals (octopods) belonging to the order Scorpiones in the Arachnid class. Scorpions are still related to hornbills, spiders, mites, and ticks. There are about 2000 types of scorpions. They are mostly found south of 49 ° U, except for New Zealand and Antarctica.
