Most inspirational John Quincy Adams moments from Steven Spielberg's "Amistad," starring Anthony Hopkins as JQA.

Amistad is a 1997 American historical drama film based on the true story of the events in 1839 aboard the slave ship La Amistad, during which Mende tribesmen (from Sierra Leone, Africa) were abducted for the slave trade. They however, managed to gain control of their captors' ship off the coast of Cuba. An significant legal battle followed their capture by the Washington, a U.S. revenue cutter. The case was ultimately resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1841.

Known as The Amistad Case of 1841, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that Africans aboard L'Amistad should be returned to their homeland. The case brought great attention to the antip-slavery movement in the United States. It is one of the few Supreme Court decisions that abolitionists (opponents of slavery) won before the American Civil War (1861-1865).
