Sparkling water inside bottle bubbles behave weirdly

While preparing his wife a vodka drink Dennis Mangrum noticed this bottle of sparkling water. Bizarrely, instead of many bubbles, as is common with sparkling water, there were only fewer, but larger bubbles that just kept moving inside the bottle.
