Nodeep Kaur Gets Bail, Dalit Labour Activist Was Arrested For Delhi Border Protest

Dalit labour activist Nodeep Kaur was granted bail on February 26 by the Punjab & Haryana High Court in an attempt to murder case. She was arrested on January 12 from a labourers' protest at Kundli border point. She has been lodged in a Karnal jail in Haryana. Kaur had accused the police of sexual assault under custody, but the allegation was denied by authorities. Kaur was arrested over a labour protest demanding higher wages, which coincided with the ongoing farmers' agitation against three new central laws & was also in solidarity with it. Following arrest, the Muktsar native faced a slew of charges - murder, extortion, theft, rioting, unlawful assembly, extortion & criminal intimidation. She was later granted bail in two cases of extortion & criminal intimidation. Watch the video to know more.
