Androids - indestructible, human-like robots - were outlawed three hundred years in the past; their locations, the radio frequency they respond to and their power source closely guarded galactic secrets. A world-ruler bent on galactic domination has learned the first two secrets and with the help of a ruthless secret agent plans to force Flash Gordon to reveal the location of the power source by torturing Dale Arden until he cracks.
