Pregnancy Week 25 - Six Months Pregnant

You are slowly approaching the end of your second trimester, which means that you should start thinking about your labour, while enjoying the fact that your baby is getting ready for it, too!



Sleeping is probably becoming difficult when you're pregnant at 25 weeks. Lying on your side, rather than your back, is recommended and you might find it more comfortable to use a pregnancy pillow between your knees to help take pressure off your belly.



Changes in Body:

- You might be developing stretch marks throughout your belly, your hips and your thighs.

- The toilet is your most frequently visited place.

- Other usual symptoms still present.

- Having a hard time sleeping.



Your Baby:

- Fetal brain cells are continuing to develop and become more sophisticated and the bone centres are beginning to harden.

- Fetus actively practises breathing, inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid as more air sacs develop in the lungs.

- When too much amniotic fluid is swallowed, you may feel a hiccup.

- Baby now weights 600 grams and is approximately 34cm long.



Common Complaints:

- You may be looking Rosy cheeked and healthy due to an increase in blood circulation under the skin.

- Pressure from the growing uterus on the bladder means you will need to make more frequent trips to the toilet.

- Cramps, heartburn and back aches are also common now.
