Sachin Tendulkar choses Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul as India's Test opening pair| Oneindia Sports

Sachin Tendulkar believes Mayank Agarwal is certain to start the Test series as opener and that he is not sure who will open with the Karnataka batsman. India have KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill too as reserve openers in the Test squad. Rohit Sharma was a late entrant to Test squad after playing a few last games for Mumbai Indians including IPL 2020 final. Shubman Gill is yet to play a Test. Mayank Agarwal have scored 974 runs in 11 Tests averaging 57.29 while KL Rahul averages 34.58 in 36 Tests. Prithvi Shaw averages 55 but has featured in only 3 Tests.

17 दिसम्बर से ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ टेस्ट सीरिज शुरू होगी. जबकि उससे पहले 27 नवम्बर से ये दौरा ही शुरू होने वाला है. तीन मैचों की वनडे और इतने ही मैचों की टी20 सीरिज पहले खेली जाएगी. पर हर किसी का ध्यान फिलहाल टेस्ट सीरिज पर केन्द्रित है. वनडे और टी20 के लिए तो भारत को ज्यादा चिंता नहीं है. पर टेस्ट में ओपनिंग जोड़ी कौन होगी, ये परेशानी का सबब है. चूँकि, रोहित शर्मा पहले दो टेस्ट मैच से बाहर हो गए हैं. और विराट कोहली भी पहले टेस्ट के बाद अंतिम के तीन टेस्ट मैच नहीं खेल पाएंगे. भारत की सलामी जोड़ी को लेकर कन्फ्यूजन है. इस पर महान बल्लेबाज सचिन तेंदुलकर ने बड़ी बात कही है. तेंदुलकर का मानना है कि पहली बार टीम इंडिया के तीनों फॉर्मेट में जगह बनाने वाले मयंक अग्रवाल पर टीम मैनेजमेंट को भरोसा जताना चाहिए.
