Early results showing that an experimental Covid-19 vaccine by US biotech firm Moderna is nearly 95 percent effective are "very promising," says Dr. Virginia Pitzer, an associate professor of epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health. "The hope is that the vaccine could be made available on an earlier basis based on these somewhat preliminary findings," Pitzer says.
