EU, 성소수자 권리보호•차별방지 전략 첫 공개

The European Union has laid out its first ever strategy for protecting the rights of LGBTIQ,... or lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer people.
The five-year plan proposes making hate speech against these people a crime under EU law,... and recognizing same-sex partnerships across the region.
This comes amid a quote "worrying trend" in the region.
"There is a worrying trend in Europe of incidents such as of attacks on pride marches and the adoption of the so-called 'LGBTIQ ideology free zone' declarations."
According to an EU Agency nearly half of LGBT people said they felt discriminated against in 2019.
And the EU says the situation has worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic as young people become locked in hostile environments.
