Due to the surge of COVID-19, online credit card spending in South Korea in September surpassed the 10 trillion won mark around nine U.S. billion dollars for the first time since related data was first compiled. According to the Bank of Korea Thursday, online credit card spending in September was about nine-point-three billion dollars,... up more than 35 percent on-year. The BOK says the resurgence of COVID-19 and the development of online payment methods drove the increase. However, offline credit card purchases in the same month were down roughly 56 million dollars at around 6 billion dollars.
