Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the probationers of Indian Civil Services through a video conference from Kevadia in Gujarat. PM Modi is in the city for the National Unity Day celebrations and to inaugurate various tourism initiatives.

Speaking to the young officers, PM Modi said, "It was Sardar Vallabhai Patel who laid the foundation of Indian Administrative Services. Sardar Saheb's advice to the officers was that serving the citizens of the country is now your highest duty. I will also urge that whatever decision a civil servant takes, should be in the favour of the nation, should strengthen the unity and integrity of the country," he said.
