Nithyananda Controversy Issue:
On Wednesday police in rural Ahmedabad arrested two women from Nithyananda's ashram managers for allegedly abusing children. The FIR also mentions the name of Nithyananda, other than the two disciples who were arrested- Pranpriya and Priyatattva. This comes after police freed three minor children (a boy and two girls) from his Hirapur Ashram in the outskirts of Ahmedabad city and united them with their parents. The arrest on Wednesday was made based on the statement by the minors.

Pon Manickavel Request Hc For Extension:
With hardly nine days left for expiry of his term as a special officer of idol wing CID, former IPS officer Pon Manickavel has approached the Madras high court seeking an extension of his tenure on the ground that the state government had intentionally "sabotaged" his functioning.

Edappadi's indirect election ordinance for local bodies:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami quoted DMK president, M K Stalin’s words to justify the ordinance promulgated to reintroduce indirect mode of election for the heads of urban local bodies in the state. The “local bodies elections cannot be stopped by any legal means as the Supreme court has given a clear verdict for the conduct of the elections in the state,” clarified Edappadi K Palaniswami
