Xi starts tour of southern China to mark 40th anniversary of Shenzhen special economic zone

Chinese President Xi Jinping began a visit to China’s southern province of Guangdong on October 12, 2020. The president is expected to arrive in Shenzhen on October 13 to meet leaders of key cities in the Greater Bay Area. During his tour, Xi will also attend a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen special economic zone.
