A 15-year-old Italian computer whiz, who died of leukemia 14 years ago, was beatified by the Catholic Church on Saturday.
Born in 1991, Carlo Acutis had shown strong religious devotion since he was a child.
With an aptitude for computer programming he created a website to catalog miracles, earning him the title "patron saint of the internet."
Pope Francis said on Sunday that the life of blessed millennial provides a witness of Christ for the younger generation.
"His testimony indicates to the youth of today that real happiness can be found putting God first and serving him in his brothers. Let's applaud the new beatified millennial."
Carlo Acutis is one of the youngest to be beatified in modern times.
