The UK has reported a record number of single-day COVID-19 infections with nearly 13-thousand new cases on Saturday,... almost double the figure from the day before.
The government explained that the surge comes as a technical issue led to under reporting of related figures last week.
The country's accumulated caseload now stands at over 480-thousand while over 42-thousand people have lost their lives from the virus so far.
Russia is also grappling with the virus as cases grew by nearly 10-thousand-5-hundred on-day on Sunday,... with the total number of cases exceeding the 1-point-2 million-mark.
This is the first time the number surpassed 10-thousand since mid-May.
