President Moon Jae-in is calling for all-out efforts to prevent further loss of life and property damage after weeks of torrential rain in South Korea.
Speaking at a Cabinet meeting Tuesday,... President Moon told officials to consider all possible financial support measures,... including using reserve funds,... as a speedy restoration is a must.
In particular, he stressed the need for extra support for the agriculture sector so farmers can resume their work as soon as possible.
President Moon also highlighted the need to swiftly digitalize infrastructure so the country can better respond to such situations in the future.
Noting the monsoon season is not yet over,... he said the government must not lower its guard and work under an emergency system.
