August 04, 2020: DIG SECURITY & EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION MAQSOOD AHMED PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE MARTYRS ON YOUM-E-SHUHDA
Karachi: DIG Security & Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed paid rich tribute to the police martyrs who laid their lives in the line of duty on the day of Youm-e-Shuhda Police.
On the directives of Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon and DIG S&ESD Maqsood Ahmed, senior officers and commandos including lady commandos of Special Security Unit, (SSU) visited the residences of 31 martyred police personnel of Special Security Unit as per tradition of the Unit to make them realize that the department will not forget the families of its martyrs and will always stand aside them.
DIG Maqsood Ahmed accompanied by the Commandant SSU Irfan Mukhtar Bhutto, SP SSU Saqib Ibrahim, SP SSU Raja Muhammad Arshad, SP Madadgar-15 Abdullah Memon and SP Security-II Syed Salman Hasnain laid floral wreath at the Martyrs Memorial at Headquarters of SSU and Security-II.
Moreover, a blood donation camp has also been set up in Special Security Unit Headquarters wherein, DIG S&ESD, Commandant SSU and a large number of commandos including senior officers voluntarily donated blood.
On this occasion, DIG Maqsood Ahmed addressing the families of martyrs in a ceremony said that Youm-e-Shuhda is a day of dedication that we will not ever leave alone the families of our martyrs. We are their custodians, this day recalls that we have to remember the sacrifices of our martyrs. He further directed to recruit a family member of each martyr according to departmental policy and also distributed cash amongst the martyrs’ families.
The families of martyred commandos expressed gratitude and said that we are not only remembered on Youm-e-Shuhda but are always supported and helped whenever need. They added that whenever country calls, their generations would keep on giving sacrifices for the sake of this beautiful motherland.
Later, DIG Security and Emergency Services Division lit candles in the memory of SSU’s martyrs and arranged a ceremony of prayers.
