David Dyrne from Dublin calls in to rattle the presenter and pundits. Some of his views include England living in dreamland, Steven Gerrard being 4th choice midfielder, Benitez in cloud-cuckoo land, Andy Johnson being just a good Championship player who plays for Everton, Barry has no pace, Downing plays for Middlebrough. Claridge replies by saying its easy from the cheap seats. The caller then says Rooney hasn't played well for England for years and they can't beat teams like Israel or Macedonia. Claridge then says it is the manager and they are not set out right. He then says you don't sound right or understand the game.
Beagrie then joins in by asking the caller if he would play Lennon on the left wing for England. The caller says who else can you play, he says Dyer plays about ten games every three years and then uses the classic line "Downing plays for Middlebrough" which angers Steve leading him to reply with how many of your boys play for the top teams. He ends with saying the cheap seats are the so good to sit in which Gary Newbon says is unfair to say. Classic stuff with the Monday Night Club!
