भारतीय सेना की ओर से जारी किए गए आधिकारिक बयान में कहा गया है, ‘गलवान घाटी में सोमवार की रात को डि-एस्केलेशन की प्रक्रिया के दौरान भारत और चीन के सैनिकों के बीच हिंसक झड़प हुई. इस दौरान भारतीय सेना के एक अफसर और दो जवान शहीद हो गए हैं. दोनों देशों के वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारी इस वक्त इस मामले को शांत करने के लिए बड़ी बैठक कर रहे हैं’इस बीच सूत्रों की ओर से जो जानकारी आ रही है, उसके मुताबिक सेना को निर्देश दे दिए गए हैं कि वो अपनी जरूरत के हिसाब से ही फैसले ले। सरकारी के उच्‍च सूत्रों के हवाले से इंडियन एक्‍सप्रेस ने लिखा है कि भारत तब तक अपने जवानों को तैनात रखेगा जब तक कि इस मसले को कोई हल नहीं निकल आता है। सेना को निर्देश दे दिए गए हैं कि वो स्थितियों के मुताबिक आपातकालीन शक्तियों का प्रयोग करे।
