US President Donald Trump said on June 1, 2020, that he will deploy the military to stop violent protests across the country. Trump said he recommended that governors throughout the country deploy state-based National Guard troops in sufficient numbers, but that he would deploy the US military to "quickly solve the problem for them" if state leaders did not take action.
