Noah admitted that, given Miley's unconditional encouragement, it was hard to shake the feeling she would still be living in the shadow of her famous sister. “Being born in the family I was in, everybody gave me such a hard time for having a hard time being Miley’s little sister, but I always felt like I was that person that no one gave a shit about due to what people said to me online,” she opened up, through tears, while describing the meaning of “Young & Sad” in an Instagram Live session on May 18. “It was absolutely unbearable. And that’s why I write, ‘My sister’s like sunshine / Always bringing good light wherever she’ll go / And I was born to rain clouds / Blessed in her shadows.’ Because that’s why everybody always says to me, that no matter what, I was going to be in that shadow. And I always believed that, and that’s so hard for me to overcome.” Miley Cyrus instead "gets very emotional listening to" the new song "Young & Sad" by Noah Cyrus, a source reported to a leading entertainment portal. The ballad, released by Miley's 20-year-old little sister on May 15, is undoubtedly the most sensitive one yet. “Miley is so proud of Noah for taking the pain and putting it into her music and she’s so glad the world is finally seeing how talented Noah is”source revealed. No matter what the elder sister was there with Noah all the time while making it big in the music industry as late and herself had fair share of ups and downs in her Hollywood career but remained protective toward her little sister.
