China will not set an economic growth target for 2020, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said at the National People’s Congress in Beijing on May 22, 2020. He also revealed that the country has increased its military budget to 1.27 trillion yuan (US$177 billion) for 2020, a 6.6 per cent rise from last year. But the rate of increase this year is the lowest in 20 years.
